Hello. Sorry for not writing in German, but I speak only English and Italian. But don't worry if you want to reply in German, as I can have your post translated.
While I have been using Finale for several years, earlier today I downloaded the trial version of Tonica Fugata because I am interested in realizing some figured basses. But I cannot understand how to enter the figures beneath the bass line. When I click on the boxes under the notes, nothing happens. And how do you insert stacked figures, for a 6/4 chord, for example?
I was also wondering if it is possible to import MusicXML files into Tonica Fugata. It would be much easier and less time consuming for me to import figured basses that I have already prepared with Finale rather than write out the basses again and then insert the figures.
Hi Florio, there might be a misunderstandig what Tonica fugata does. You provide a melodie and TF composes according to the parameters you define. The english homepage of capella will give you some mopre detailed explanations https://www.capella-software.com/us/inde...-tonica-fugata/
Thank you for your reply, Peter. No, I do understand what Tonica Fugata can do and what it can be used for, but I cannot physically enter the figures under the bass line. I have read the PDF manual, but there are no detailed instructions there. It just says "Enter the bass-line into the bass voice" and then "Now enter your desired numberings for the bass notes". How do I enter the numbers?
To enter something into the boxes under the notes click with the right mouse key onto the box and TF will show you a window with additional informations.
Nothing happens when I right click on the box. Should I have activated something on the toolbar as well (I think I have tried everything possible option)!

Could it be that you are clicking in the staff itself?
You have to click underneath the Great Staff (pentagramma ??), not in it.
Then you should get a dialogue for the selection of various options, and after that a form to add numbers and symbols.
In case this should still be a problem: - Select "Show: Figured bass" from the Document menu - Enter the bass-line into the bass voice - Right-click the box below the first bass note to open context menu - Select "Chord description" from the context menu - Enter the desired figured bass numberings - Click the "=>" button to continue with the next bass note - After entering the figured bass select "Figured bass" from the Compose menu.
